Movement

Movement

We use the words Natural Movement quite a lot at EEVE.

It is part of why we started the brand, and it sits behind every piece we make. But it isn't a workout, a sport or a particular way of moving.

It is something much simpler.

The way your body naturally moves through a day.

You stretch when you wake up. You walk to get coffee. You sit on the floor. You reach for something on the top shelf. You take the stairs. You dance in the kitchen. You lie down at the end of a long day.

Some days you move a lot.

Some days you barely move at all.

Both are part of being human.

We started thinking about how often clothes make us aware of our bodies in ways we don't really want to be. A waistband that digs in when you sit. A fabric that pulls when you reach. A top that needs to be adjusted every few minutes. Something that looks good when you're standing still but feels completely different once you start living in it.

We don't think clothing should ask your body to behave differently.

It should follow.

That doesn't mean every piece has to be loose or oversized. It means thinking about where the body bends, stretches and rests. It means paying attention to fabric, softness, elasticity, shape and the small details that can make something feel completely different on the body.

For us, Natural Movement is also about letting go of the idea that there is one right way to use your body.

Movement doesn't have to be productive.

You don't have to count it.

You don't have to improve it.

You don't even have to call it exercise.

A walk home can be enough.

So can five minutes of stretching between two meetings. Swimming in the sea. Carrying groceries. Lying in the sun. Getting up from your desk and opening a window.

We wanted EEVE to fit into all of those moments.

Not to tell you how to move, but to give you a little more freedom while you do.

That is what Natural Movement means to us.
